Minister Anthony J. Borges, Jr. is a native of Washington, DC. He joined the church at an early age and participated in many church ministries. On June 2, 1999 Minister Borges received his license as a minister of the gospel from the Second New St. Paul Baptist Church in Washington, DC from the late Dr. Edgar L. Williams, Sr., Pastor. Being called at an early age, Min. Borges testifies of how his life has undergone many growing pains but the scriptures “Preach the word! Be ready in season and out of season. Convince, rebuke, exhort, with all long suffering and teaching.”– 2 Timothy 4:22. Currently Min. Borges serves as the Youth Director at St. Stephen Baptist Church, Bishop Lanier C. Twyman, Sr., Senior Pastor. In this role Min. Borges is charged with overseeing the toddlers, youth, young adult, and singles ministries. He is also the family life leader of online members. Formerly, Min. Borges served as Sr. Associate minister to Pastor Damion M. Briggs at the Eastern Community Church in Landover, MD. Min. Borges also served as 4th Vice President of the National Capital Congress of Christian Education with responsibility over the Youth and Young Adult Department and the Scholarship Committee. He was also auditor and assistant finance secretary in the National Capital Baptist Convention of Washington, DC & Vicinity. Min. Borges has had the opportunity to preach extensively in the greater Baltimore/Washington area (the DMV), and other parts of the country.
